458k for something that would supposedly crack 53 games.
Which games? Ahh how do we find out, oh we will run the program, oh dear im infected by a homebrew keylogger. |
tend to agree...
1. visual basic coded 2. suspicious info in the version info... VALUE "CompanyName", "." VALUE "ProductName", "MSI" VALUE "FileVersion", "1.00" VALUE "ProductVersion", "1.00" VALUE "InternalName", "sTemp" <<<< VALUE "OriginalFilename", "sTemp.dat" <<<< 3. STB resource (id:7) looks very much like an encrypted resource (possibly encrypted dll or exe.. i really couldn't be bothered to dissect this.. its suspicious already) 4. no names of any games at all present (out of 53 apparently...) 5. first time poster all of those would lead me to permbanning poseremsenausername, but because im so nice, i will give poseremsenausername exactly 3 days now to reply and explain him/herself, if such a reply does not happen here, then my hands are tied... hmm thought of a new rule -> ANYONE posting links to anything (including rapidshare etc.. but obviously excluding gamecopyworld.com, and other trusted sites) takes FULL responsibility of posting the link.. if the link points to a virus / trojan etc then that person will get a permban... comments dab or joe? :) idea is that it might make some people think about posting links and reduce threads like this one... |
Look, I was just going to permban the original poster but then I thought, hell, he might be up to something good (don't ask me what!) and it might cast a bad shadow on the forum's image when a moderator acts unfoundedly. But, please, be my guest with the banstick. :p
As for the proposed rule, it's fine but it's enforceable only if you can define exactly what virus/trojan/malware is. (Otherwise how can you explain the reasons for your actions?!) And, since even in this case we only have grave suspicions and VirusTotal also gives inconclusive results, we cannot define malware exactly. However, it might be a good idea to delete such suspicious links on sight, without any notification or, perhaps, a warning; if the poster tries again (in another first post), permban without any second thoughts. Thread closed, will be deleted later. |
