Battlestrike: Shadow of Stalingrad - NoDVD CRACK

I have included in the attachment the crack (self-made) for this game to be published to Game Copy World - if someone is interested (crack made by EXECUT0R as reference)... the ORIGINAL GAME works with an ISO image done from the original DVD and installed with any ISO mounter/loader, but requires this image - or mini image - to be mounted/loaded... the crack gives you the opportunity to play without the original DVD inserted or image mounted/loaded.

Please keep in mind that THIS CRACK COULD BE USED EXCLUSIVELY BY THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE BOUGHT THE ORIGINAL GAME AND LEGALLY OWN THE ORIGINAL DVD, I won't be responsible of any misuse.

What did you do so it would accept an image?

Perhaps there is more you could have done to allow no image at all.

Would be nice to know what you changed in the coding perhaps someone then can look into it more.

In fact you need nothing with this crack:
1) you need no orginal DVD to be inserted in a physical drive.
2) you need no Image (or Mini-Image) to be mounted.

It's a NoDVD crack... If you own the original game you could try for yourself, and you'll find that it works.

Erm you first said it needs an image then it doesnt, so a bit confusing.

So what opcodes did you change and what was the protection before?

thre's only one check (at least that's what I've found) just removed with 'blanking codes'... it seems that is working OK (loaded many savegames)

if by 'Blanking codes' you mean nop'ing then fair enough.

So the game has no protection other than just a simple cd-check?

So you nop'd out the JNE?

this is what I have done (see the attached jpg) and yes for me the game has only a simple cd-check...

now I have to go...

Someone have just uploaded the same crack on GCW, checked with an Hex Editor and it's the same then mine... there is also a "PAG.dll" included... I don't know what this dll does but in the game installation directory isn't included (also I don't see any call to this dll by the game engine - but I could be wrong)... very strange

Could be dodgy that file.
