Playing Website WebCam with Media Player
Hello,
This is the very first post from an ageing, non-techno! I have today visited several travel Websites which have WebCam facilities to show off their region. However the clip doesn't play. I have tried several times on a number of different Websites. When I right click, go the Error, the following message appears: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because a network error occurred. The server might not be available. Verify that you are connected to the network and that your proxy settings are correct." Help, please! I have XP Home and have recently changed from Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firefox. Many thanks. |
Some general ideas:
- See if the same clip plays in Firefox. You might want to download and install an extension (=plugin in Firefox's terminology) that plays those clips. - Verify that you can contact the same site with Internet Explorer (just for a test) and that the general proxy settings (Control Panel, Internet Options) are the same as in Firefox. |
