SW Battlefront 2 HELP!
 

Hi, wondering if anybody can help me out.

battelfront 2 doesnt wanna work on my laptop anymore and i have absolutely no clue why. used to work but now it crashes whenever i try to start any new game. the menu screen loads and i can fiddle change almost all options no probs but as soon as i hit training or conquest or whatever to actually play my whole system overloads. the other strange thing is the only option i cant change is the sound mixer config or FX without it completely freezing. i tried doing that as a suggestion from somebody to stopping overload but the damn thing wont even let me do that.

ok, ive got a fairly low end system but my specs are
pentium M 1.6 GHz
ATI radeon 9700 64mb
1g ram
XP sp3
Realtek ac97 audio device

ive tried all the patches and tried updating all my drivers but still no avail. i also read the PC games FAQ but not sure if any of that applies cause the game doesnt work whether i run it as a virtual image or from the disk.

anyway, as i said it used to work but now its gone to buggery. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Does this happen with any other games/software? If it does it could be a problem with either your RAM or a part of your motherboard.

RAM is easy to replace if it turns out to be that, but the motherboard wouldnt be.

Try reinstalling the game?

hey dab, dunno if its the ram or motherboard. dont seem to have any probs with any other software/games other than the occasional XP program errors. also tried reinstalling SWBF2 several times but still does the same thing.

are there any known programs that clash with SWBF2? theres several programs ive installed since i played it last ...also wondering if anybody has any probs with XP sp3?

Perhaps SP3 is a problem, im guessing before you could play BF2 on SP2.

hehehe, nice try Dab but I 'used' to play a lot of BF2 as in 'Battlefield 2' but unfortunately dashmay is talking about 'Battlefront 2'. ;)

And sorry dashmay I am not sure what the problem could be, i dont have the game nor have i installed SP3.

Ahhh yeah, I hate those games anyway, anything with the acronym BF2 = bad to me lol

Its still strange he could play it then not, so im wondering if its an SP3 issue.
