Mercenaries 2 - World in Flames (DVD9 to 2x DVD5)
 

MERCENARIES 2: WORLD IN FLAMES Multi3 (english/french/russian) DVD9 TO 2xDVD5 (install sequence 1-2-1)

1) Create MERCS2_1 and MERCS2_2 folders

2) Copy DVD content to MERCS2_1 folder

3) Replace autorun.dat with edited one. Download here: Attachment 514

4) MOVE these files from MERCS2_1 to MERCS2_2 folder

data\Movies\ folder
data\vz.wad
English2.cab
Precache.cab

COPY these files from MERCS2_1 to MERCS2_2 folder

_mercs2.ico
autorun.inf

5) Edit autorun.inf in MERCS2_2 folder and change open=AutoRun.exe to open=0

5) Add folder for crack/patches to MERCS2_1 folder

6) Burn or make isos with labels MERCS2_1 and MERCS2_2 <--IMPORTANT

DVD1 Size: 3,15 GB without crack/patch DVD2 Size: 4,29 GB
Install sequence: DVD1-DVD2-DVD1

NOTE: i suggest to use conversion with install sequence 1-2-1 for compatibility reasons.

DVD1

1) Copy DVD content to TEMP folder

2) Replace autorun.dat with edited one. Download here: Attachment 513

3) Move these files out of TEMP folder

'data\Audios' folder
'data\Movies' folder
data\vz.wad_1
English2.cab
Precache.cab

4) Edit autorun.inf and change open=Autorun.exe to open=EASetup.exe

5) Burn or make iso with label MERCS2_1 <--IMPORTANT Must be exactly this label

DVD2

1) Delete

all files from 'data' folder
French.cab
Russian.cab

2) Move these files back to TEMP folder

'data\Audios' folder
'data\Movies' folder
data\vz.wad_1
English2.cab
Precache.cab

3) Edit autorun.inf and change open=EASetup.exe to open=0

4) Add folder for crack/patches

5) Burn or make iso with label MERCS2_2 <--IMPORTANT Must be exactly this label

DVD1 size: 4,16 GB DVD2 size: 3,41 GB without crack/patches
Install sequence: DVD1-DVD2

TESTED English/French/Russian install on Vista

NOTE: depending how you make your backups, there will be one problem with missing files and that is thumbs.db files in Support folder which are included in install progress in autorun.dat, some methods doesn't include these and installer will error about missing thumbs.db

Don't remove these from autorun.dat or french and russian install will not work (can't apply transform)

Fix: If using ImgBurn then check these boxes before making iso in Options tab, "Include Hidden Files" and "Include System Files".

Eng Only Conversion

* Copy all from Original DVD
* Move the original "Movies" folder from data sub folder to a safe place
* Download this ( Attachment 515 ) and put the downloaded bogus Movies folder to the data sub folder ( From where u moved the original Movies folder )
* Delete Russian and French CAB files
* Burn the contents to a DVD ( Label not important )
* Now Burns the Original Movies folder to a DVD along with Crack + Updates if needed
* Install the game from first DVD
* Once the installation finishes insert the 2nd DVD and copy the Original movies folder to the game installation folder.... Replace the Movies folder including all files with the copied one ( From the 2nd DVD )
* If you need copy the NO DVD crack or similar stuff
* Play

100% Works... Tested by me :) ( Sorry for basic info... I'm kinda busy ;) )

Alright, found a way to edit embedded mst files and i will update conversion soon as i test french and russian install too.

Goes like this...

First MST have to extract from MSI
then edit autorun.dat with orca and "Apply Transfrom..."
Make needed changes and then "Generate Transform..."
Then must remove original MST from MSI before applying modified MST

yeah it can be little misleading if you didn't check install sequence which is dvd1-dvd2-dvd1 and i haven't changed disk prompt from original at all so is asking always Please insert disk: Mercenaries 2: World in Flames™ when changing to disk2 and disk1

In error table need replace text on error 1711 "Please insert disk: Mercenaries 2: World in Flames™" with "Please insert the next disk." ;)

media tables in embedded mst file not error ...
