Man dont post the whole game in an archive!

Kill that link lol

Joe Forster/STA 28-03-2008 07:43

Yes, package up only those files that are necessary to make the game display the "insert CD" or similar message. (This is mentioned in the FAQ.)

blubberblub 28-03-2008 13:21

ok that should be this

Joe Forster/STA 28-03-2008 17:59

The main executable is not enough. Read the FAQ more carefully and package up the necessary DLL's, too.

blubberblub 28-03-2008 18:23

oh iam so sorry,

here now the complete package

1. Install the game and copy the contents of the MONOPOLY directory (in the root directory) from the CD into the game installation directory. These should include the subdirectories called MSOUND16, MSOUND, SOUNDS, MOVIES, BACKGRND, POSTMONO, SHAPES, MAPTABLE. (Taken from the game executable.)

2. Create an empty file called C00L.VQA (those are zeros, not letter O's) in the MOVIES directory, if it doesn't already exists there.

3. Apply the attached patch to MONOPOLY.EXE. (My homepage is currently down and I don't want to bother with file hosting sites.)

+1. The game also needs the WinG graphics library which can be downloaded from here http://www.otakuworld.com/toys/utils.html . Or just grab WING32.DLL from a DLL download site and put it into the Windows system directory.

Please, reply if this worked for you.

blubberblub 30-03-2008 07:42

ok i became two types of errors

1.) *.DDL für Dialogfelder nicht gefunden. Bitte das Spiel neuinstallieren
*. DDL for dialog boxes not found. Please reinstall the game

2.) or it says that he doesn't found the cd and when i close the game the start-sound from the game start's

Joe Forster/STA 30-03-2008 10:52

Sorry, that's the best I could come up with "blindly", without having the complete game myself. Alternative solution: create an image of the game CD, mount it into Daemon Tools, make sure that the emulated CD drive has the lowest drive letter of all CD drives (!) and play.

blubberblub 30-03-2008 11:58

yes thats the way i start the game
could you do more when you have an image of the game?

DABhand 30-03-2008 15:21

cant do that blubber that would fall into warez. giving a full image of a game to someone comes under that.

Joe Forster/STA 30-03-2008 16:08

Create a batch file that mounts the image, launches the game, waits for the game to finish and the unmounts the image. Then you can play the game absolutely trouble-free.

Here a sample batch file that mounts the image specified on the command line and unmounts the current one when no file name has been specified. Set DTOOLSPATH to where Daemon Tools is installed on your PC...

Code:

@echo off
set DTOOLSPATH=F:\PROGRAMS\DTOOLS
if `%1` == `` goto unmount
  start %DTOOLSPATH%\daemon -mount 0,%1
  goto end
:unmount
  start %DTOOLSPATH%\daemon -unmount 0
:end
set DTOOLSPATH=
