no-cd no-dvd ?

is there a difference when it says no-cd no-dvd? i ask because the sims2 freetime is on cd and the fix says no-dvd will it work?

if this is in wrong place i am sorry

TippeX 28-02-2008 07:42

if the game came on a cd, the crack is sometimes a no-cd, if the game came on a dvd, the crack is sometimes a no-dvd, essentially its all the same

lauriej 28-02-2008 08:54

thanks for reply, i think the game comes on cd but the game fix says no-dvd so a couple of friends wondered if it would still work.

we dont like secuom on our computers so dont want to use the cd if we dont have to

TippeX 28-02-2008 09:58

oh jumping on the 'i hate securom' bandwagon eh... hope you and your friends all OWN a copy of the games then....

yes we all do trust me about the many posts about what happened to peoples pc's after installing bon voyage, my own daughters was one. hard drive crashed and had to be replaced. since then only play without using cd.

lol the securom hate is still going around? I thought that died with Bioshock :P

Man I prefer Securom 1 millon of times better than SF or that pile of crap of Steam like type of protections . At least Securom is not so intrusive. The blacklisting virtual drive thing in Securom could be a bit disgusting but is generally avoidable

TippeX 09-03-2008 09:39

well, most protection issues are generally avoidable by using the original disk, however i do agree software like starforce is a bit too intrusive / invasive, i can understand using drivers in protections (but nowadays any good cracker will know ring 0 and have a fair understanding of it, which in essence reduces the 'power' of the protection using drivers...) but thankfully the 'trend' seems to be dying, the latest rumor was that starforce was also dropping its driver usage, which would be nice to see, and then protect cd, tages etc might also do the same..
