New Darkstar 1.3 FixedExe...Good or bad?
 

Anybody tried that new DarkStar Patch 1.3 fixedexe from Detonation??
I'm a little suspicious that only darkstarone.exe is needed, while previous working fixedexe from Pakhan had other files modified as well... Crackers from Detonation either did a very, very good job on this one or they missed something... So, is this fixed exe working like it should for anyone??

why not try it for yourself and report back so others can be enlightened from your research?

Yeah, I tried it for a short time and it LOOKS like it's OK but since this is TAGES protection maybe I'm just lucky and missing those numerous protection triggers...so I'm asking if it is working for anybody else...

Well... after seeing a new Fixed EXE in GCW (just 1 file), I decide to install the game and patch it to 1.3 - so I have a fresh install with unmodified files.
Play it for a while - everything normal.
Apply the 1.3 detonator crack and the game doesn't work properly:
.- No images, background, ships, etc. everything dark.
.- If you quit the game and enter again, you see everything but shakes like if you were on a spacial quake.
Use Pakhan files and everything normal like a fresh install again.

So the detonation crack is a no go for me.

The best "infovs" can do is try also. if doesn't work properly, uninstall and re-install. Each PC is a world. Many things can determinate a game's behaviour.

Thanks nando2002...maybe Detonation cracker had Pakhan files in his DarkStarOne directory ;) and DTN fixed exe supposed to work on top of Pakhan files?...will try that when I'll have time...
