problem with virtual IDE drives in DT advanced

Every time I try to mount any image in Daemon Tools v4.10 Advanced it shows up with "unknown" as the title, and windows says:

"Windows could not read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with Windows."

However I can mount the same image in D-Tools Pro (the free version) with no problem. I'm not sure whats going on. I've tried to re-initialize the IDE software and I"m about to try reinstalling D-Tools to see if that works.

Any suggestions?

This is pretty vague; give us (a link to) an example image.

If I remember well DT Adv installs drivers needed to use IDE virtual drives, you may have not installed them or cancelled by mistake without realising.

Also does your PC have any IDE hardware devices, i.e. CD/DVD-roms or HD's?

If not maybe you have to installed the chipset drivers for them.

Update:

Ok I reinstalled DT Pro Adv.

What I'm trying to do is mount the mini-image of the Witcher from gmc.com. However, everytime I mount it in DT Pro Adv the graphic of the image shows a cd with a mask behind it and it says "unknown". I can't explore the image at all in windows explorer - it acts like I mounted a bad image or something.

I can mount other images fine just not this one. Its not working in D-Tools lite anymore either...so I redownloaded the image and it still does the same thing?

I can play fine with the original DVD I just hate swapping CD's out all the time as I only have one DVD drive and I use my cpu to play videos on my TV all the time.

I had it working at one point with DT Lite but now the same image doens't work. This has to be a configuration problem. When I uninstalled everything DT related and reinstalled them it still kept my configuration options and my drive letters. Is there a way to completely wipe DT from my computer and install from scratch?

any other suggestions?

On a side note, It may be wise on any future poseden/netshow images were to have the nfo removed, or remove the url's from them.

But I tried the mini-image and it mounts fine for me and works fine. But its not explorable, it is just a protection image. Run the game it should treat it as the DVD.

does it look like this in D-Tools?

u may try to enable emulation and disable the SCSI drive.
If all fails u can make your own image with DT pro adv and tages settings.

Yes but it starts up for me when I play the game, as the game is checking the topography of the disc which its doing with the mini-image.

I'm having the same exact problem. I have the English version from dopeman and can't get the game installed with DT Pro Advanced and am following all of Dopeman's instructions. Question, should the install be starting as soon as I mount the image (mds file)? Because it's not. Can anyone help?

You cannot install from a mini image; read the PC Games forum FAQ.

@Joe Forster/STA
"Dopeman version" is no mini image :(
