Runaway 2 v1.3
 

Hi there, since it's being more than two months that the v1.3 patch has been released i hope i do not violate rule #6 anymore. i need a fixed-exe for the 1.3 english version of the game Runaway 2: The Dream of the Turtle. i have searched for quite a while and haven't anything so far. can anyone help me ?

Usually after so many patches from a not popular game you will see less and less cracks, but you will never know.

Maybe there is one out there. But if in doubt a mini/maxi-image can solve this problem if one is made correctly. Check the FAQ's on how you can make your own.

Rule number one when you can't find a NOCD/DVD for the game you want to play: try using the old NOCD. That's right, RELOADED's executable works fine. If you at any point encounter a bug you can't get past, use the French 1.3 NOCD. Menus will be in French, but that doesn't really matter. Just finish whatever you have to do and then go back to the RELOADED NOCD.

... But no, the answer is even simpler. I just did a full reinstall to verify, and the patch doesn't even patch or replace the executable. The original RELOADED 1.0 NODVD is the 1.3 NODVD. I wish GCW would post that information.

Because in essence GCW is a collection of files which is stored conveniently for your ease.

Nobody is gonna sit and try out everycrack at GCW and then post results about it, plus im sure everyone at GCW doesnt have every game possible.

But since you brought forward that info then maybe it will get onto GCW. Who knows.

Perhaps, such information should (re-)posted into the GameCopyWorld Support forum where it belongs... ;)

I love how the point of the thread somehow became the fact that GCW didn't post such information. The point of the thread was to get an answer to the problem of no specific 1.3 crack. That answer obviously belonged here.

GCW needs help from fellow users. If you post information to the correct forum, it will be made use of soon; otherwise it will remain only a wish.

Alright, I see what you mean, but I wasn't criticizing GCW by any means. In fact, I've seen many cracks on the site that refer to the fact that they work for newer versions as well. Anyway, I'll post about it in the other forum.

The English v1.3 patch DOES contain a new executable!!

I just downloaded it, extracted the installshield files and examined them. There is a new exe file in the installer, in fact that is the ONLY file in the installer!! It's 3,436,544 bytes in size!

So I guess you tried to install v1.3 over a cracked game and the installer didn't replace the EXE? So you are playing as v1.0 and NOT as v1.3 with any bugs fixed!! Try copying the original exe file from the DVD to the game folder and then apply the 1.3 patch, then see if the exe changes!

You're right, I let that slip. However, it isn't exactly 1.0 given that the patch modifies other resource files as well. I'm going through the game now and if I see any bugs the patch fixed, I'll report back. Nonetheless, the exe won't work on Vista obviously which is one of the main features of the patch :/ Sorry about that, but I'll find out if there are any bad side effects other than no Vista compatibility (which isn't important for me really). It's likely SOME things will be fixed though.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I was wondering if anyone had managed to find or come up with a crack for the English version of Runaway 1.3?
