Grand Theft Auto: London, 1969 (2004, Classics Collection)

Hi,

I recently purchased 2004's Grand Theft Auto: The Classics Collection and would like a crack for the version of Grand Theft Auto: London, 1969 contained within because as the executable has been modified from the original to run better on modern PCs and the music is set up to play from the hard drive instead of the game's CD (as is the case with the original); using an existing cracked executable is not ideal.

Here are the results from a Protection ID v5.2c scan:

Scanning -> C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto\gtawin\GTA_uk.exe
File Type : Exe, Size : 2596864 (027A000h) Bytes
-> Suspicious MZ Header..
[!] SecuROM Detected - Version 5.03.04
- Scan Took : 0.781 Seconds

P.S. - The freebie version of Grand Theft Auto might be a good starting point.

EDIT: I've made a rar file containing the game's executable and the DLLs it needs to display a "No disc inserted" error which you can download from here.

Thought I'd bump this thread to indicate that I too would be happy to see a crack of this, having discovered and bagged this GTA Classics collection quite recently after having been unaware of its existence.

It astounds me that after releasing two of the games in the pack for free download, Rockstar feel that it makes sense afterwards to infect the physical media re-releases with SecuROM. As has been explained, these recompiled versions install literally everything to the hard-disk, music and all. I'm not too sure as to why Rockstar have chosen to not also release GTA London 1969 for free from their website however.

Personally it'd probs be best if all three titles in the pack were cracked anyway, mainly to catch up with the list of odd budget re-releases that apply newer protection (I know Sold Out's Theme Hospital has protection on it that wasn't in the original for example, though I can't recall what it uses exactly..... anyway, that's for another thread! :)). But if GTA London at least got "liberated" I'd be content with that!

bumping is a no-no
and just get the free version of gta and copy the executable over... does the trick, i did it many years ago...

Just added the link for everyone. So enjoy the free games from Rockstar. I'd wish more companies do the same with the very old titles.

Here you have wolfsrain another example:
Ground Control from Massive Entertainment & Sierra:

Are you saying I should take the executable from the GTA1 download and use it with GTA London '69? Surely there are bound to be compatibility issues out of doing that???

TippeX 29-05-2008 06:47

nah gta1 download for gta1 obviously.. didn't realise you asked about gta london '69

MarzSyndrome 29-05-2008 13:16

Lol, well the title of the thread does state "London 1969" and I posted in the thread to speak of my favour in seeing it get patched. ;)

Very few ppl in here can fill your request and the mayor groups don't care for old games. I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

TippeX 30-05-2008 10:30

u tried unsecurom nt on it?

MarzSyndrome 11-07-2009 19:51

Sorry to bump this again after a long time, but I just remembered that I never got back to TippeX after all these months, which was silly of me!

Well I tried London 1969 with UnSecuROM NT on it just now and alas it failed. I'm led to believe that maybe the tool is too old to recognise 5.x. =[

It's a shame that Rockstar haven't bothered to do anything with London '69 after all these years apart from include it in a collection riddled with additional protection for no real reason, considering two of the games can still be downloaded for free. Why haven't they at the very least brought it out on Steam?

Crack for gta, 1961 and 1969

MarzSyndrome 13-07-2009 15:13

Are you sure this is a proper crack? Judging by the 1999 date I think you may have just uploaded the old/original exe...... will give it a whirl though.

And AFAIR, 1961 doesn't need cracking surely, due to it being a free download???

chron 14-07-2009 10:44

I copied the files from my gta installation.

It was the free version of gta + gta london + gta 1961

you probably only need the uk exe but I have just packed all of them.
