COLIN MCRAE DIRT DVD9 TO 2X DVD5 (ENGLISH)

***DVD5 ONE***

1] Copy the contents of the DVD9 game to a folder on your desktop called DIRT

2] From this folder remove & place on the desktop these files.

Data6.CAB
Padding.Dat
Padding1.Dat
Padding2.Dat

3] Open the SETUP.INI with notepad & alter the line

EnableLangDlg=Y to read EnableLangDlg=N (quit & save)

4] Burn the contents of the folder using the volume label DIRT

***DVD5 TWO***

1] Delete everything from the DIRT folder on the desktop except these files

Autorun.INI
Autorun.EXE

2] Place the files that you removed earlier on into the DIRT folder (These would be)

Data6.CAB
Padding.Dat
Padding1.Dat
Padding2.Dat

3] Open up the Autorun.INI & edit it to look like this

[autorun]
open=0
icon=autorun.exe
label=DIRT

4] Burn the contents of the folder using the volume label DIRT

Install the game once it needs the right file it will ask for the next disk.....

Once a crack is out for this add it to disk 2..

1°) ok, apparently, for a french DVD9 2 DVD5 is not mecessary to modifie the language option in SETUP.INI
EnableLangDlg=Y(Dont touch)

2°) The Padding files are DUMMIES and can be removed
Padding.Dat [remove]
Padding1.Dat [remove]
Padding2.Dat [remove]

3°) By removing the Padding file and add the crack folder with Update you obtain a iso file that size are 4.78 mb you can try to copy all file exept "data6.cab" on a DVD_1 and the "data6.cab" on a DVD_2.


But it is much bether if someone plz, can send a correct tutorial "how to use I6comp or ISCAB to remove the useless language files for each country, after this hint, the files can be writted on only one DVD.
exemple, how to remove languagedata_german(spanish, italian).lng from cab file.

create temp folder
copy contents of dvd to this temp folder - without padding*.dat 3 files
download this file

with added attrib -r /s
mirror links - with added attrib -r /s uploaded.to
and unpack into temp folder
run colin_dirt_eng.BAT
edit setup.ini
change "CheckMD5=Y" to "CheckMD5=N"
create "nodvd" folder and insert patch 1.1 and nodvd
make iso with volumelabel "DIRT"
test it

i test installation after removing f_*.wia files and works correctly
takes 1 hours to remove this filemask from cab files
cant test game because at this moment dont have vga with ps3.0

additional :
edit setup.ini
change "EnableLangDlg=Y" to "EnableLangDlg=N"
installation dont need directx folder - can delete it to have more space into dvd

Foreign Language
 

French conversion=4320 Mb with complet DirectX crack & update folder

For foreign Language user, edit the colin_dirt_.BAT from "mondragon" with notepad and modifie the string of YOUR Language with "u_*.wia"

f_* = french
g_* = german
i_* = Italian
s_* = spanish
u_* = US

Edit also the "setup.ini" file & modifie the string:


EnableLangDlg=N
CheckMD5=N
[Languages]
Default=0x040c (0x040c for french, Use her your own language code)
count=2
key0=0x0009
key1=0x040c
key2=0x0007
key3=0x0010
key4=0x000a

Have fun it run like a charm....

Conversion works fine for English DVD with enough space to put patch 1.1 and crack on the same DVD without having to delete anything!

Yes, "mondragon's" files are excellent.

If some poeple have trouble, make shur to have enough free HD space, you need approximative 6gb free space to write the modification's temp files and 1 hour to write this modif.

If BEFORE you have "mondragon's" files, you have try to remove files with ISCAB from the *.cab files, and have stoped the process before their end or missendet the process, is it possible that your original *.hdr and *.iso files are corupted, replace theyr with the original files from dvd before using "mondragon's" files.

Don't use any other version of "i6comp" as theyr from downloadet archive.

Mondragon, can you, or anyone alse, reupload those files? :(

make sure to read post #8 as the archive is for creating ENGLISH ONLY game.
If you want other language look at that post to see what to edit in BAT file.


NOTE: This is not the original file, I just read the posts and added the 2 files I had in my collection ( from other conversions ). The files are only i6comp.exe & colin_dirt_eng.bat ( which was posted already )

Test it out & let me know if it works for you.

- Extracted the game to temp folder.
- Downloaded colin_dirt_eng.zip and extracted to same folder.
- Ran colin_dirt_eng.bat and waited till it finished.
- Removed colin_dirt_eng.bat and i6comp.exe.
- Removed readme files for removed languages.
- Edited setup.ini as described.
- Replaced DirectX with the latest one (June 2010).
- Created a Crack folder and added patches 1.21 and 1.22 to it.

Resulting size was 4459 MB. Splendid.

I tested the installation and game works great.
Installed game takes 9.93 GB (10170 MB) of disk space.
