PSX games on PS2
 

Hi,

I have a v7 PS2 with Ripper2 modchip (if I remember right). I'm trying to play PSX backups on it and most of them DO work, but unfortunately there are some, that I simply just can't get past the Playstation logo, namely Bomberman World, ISS Pro Evolution (1), Dino Crisis 2, Resident Evil & Resident Evil 2 (all versions: Director's Cut, Dual Shock. PAL/NTSC, whatever...).

I've tried everything, different ISOs, regions, burning speeds, and still no effect.

I usually burn them with Alcohol 120% on Verbatim media at 16x speed, as I said before, several dozens of other PSX games that I've tried works with that configuration without any troubles. There is more: when I borrowed a working copies of Dino Crisis 2 and ISS Pro Evolution from my mate and made the images myself, they worked like a charm. So what the hell is going on?

PS Basically, I've got the same problem as people HERE. Yet no one that I've asked had found an answer. Any help will be appreciated...

Are you downloading some of these images?

Yeah, but I own the originals of course ;) It doesn't matter anyway, because I think it's something game-dependant, not image-dependant (no matter how many different images, regions, versions of the game I've tried, I still couldn't get it to work)

I'm not saying it is image dependant - I was checking you own the originals :)
