DVD-RW/+RW using Matrix Infinity
Hi,
I had installed a Matrix Infinity on my PS2 a few years ago and it's been working fine although I can't use any rewritable media (DVD-RW/DVD+RW). The chip itself doesn't have any F wire and nothing else connects to that point on the board. Is it possible to do something to make rewritable medias work with it? Thanks. |
Er... You sure that's a bona-fide Infinity? They don't have an F point on the PCB at all...
P.S: There is no separate wire for -RW media on the Infinity. |
Yeah, it's an original purchased from an official reseller.
It doesn't have an F wire on the pcb and DVD-+RW don't seem to work. I'm looking for a way to make it work, if possible. |
Nah it's OK - It just wasn't too clear as to whether you were saying yours had an F point with no wire on it - but you've cleared it up now.
What version PS2 is this? V1-4 couldn't read -RW media so if this is the case then you're SoL. I find that PS2s tend to be pretty hit-and-miss with -RW media anyway tbh, so it could be that your laser isn't in the best shape, or the -RW media you are using just isn't up to the scratch for use in the PS2. Hope that helps... |
It's a V9, with a troubled early history of burnt laser & LA chip which I had to replace.
I might try a different media type now that I know it should work theoretically. Thanks. |
