Wii modchip

It seems we have a working modchip for the console. The website is Here.
The chips can be purchased from www.foundmy.com :)

It's a bit too early for my liking. Don't think I will be playing backups on my Wii, too much risk of Nintendo blocking it from the online service when they detect it. Which I really don't want when I bought all my games legit lol.

Also I thought it was VERY hard to backup a Wii / Gamecube game since the games data is written from the outside of the disc to start with and then moves inwards? Meaning you need special hardware to do it??? Unless the modchip allows it to read the other way and just use regular DVD discs??

Unless they are like MS who made it purposely easy for their consoles to be hacked, and don't seem to have done a thing about it. Good strategy on their part I think as it may help drive Xbox 360 sales.

with rawdump and an lg drive you can copy wii discs it takes about 3 hours to dump a disc

Yeah, I saw this also -- I wish they had the instructions up so i can see what's involved in the process. I've never modded a console before, and I really don't want to screw my wii up!!!

Seems to be legit, but I'll probably wait until people have said if it works for sure or not. I also do not want to be blocked from Online play....especially for Smash Brothers!!!!

Can you backup a gamecube game and then burn it onto a full sized DVD?

Also are Wii games on Dual Layer discs or single layer?
