why can't you use a phoneline to upload from your DC?
 

Why can't you use a phoneline to upload games from your dreamcast? You can use a serial cable and ethernet, why not use a phoneline.

no hard ware or software would support that,then you could network 2 computers with only a phone line...or hook to dcs up that way. you can use the broadband adapter though

besides thefact that the serial cord takes long enough... imagine 56k!

you could... just like you do with pcs (null modem) but you'd have to write your own software and find a program that would support transfers like that, and it would be a max of 5K transfer as opposed to the serial cables 10-20K
