Splinter Cell double agent (PC) crashes
 

Hello to all,

I have the SCDA original disc, on a high-end PC using Windows Media Player. While playing a certain level the game always - always! - crashes, returning to Windows with error message as follows:

Assertion failed: Pos<=Size[File:...\..\Core\Inc\Core.h][Line: 1050]

I've also tried downloading the patch currently available for the game (1.2), but even the patch crashes when I try installing it.

Can anyone help me resolve this problem? It's a source of immense irritation, since of course the game itself is brilliant. I'm no genius when it comes to computers - hopefully one of your bright minds may be able to help me out.

First of all, try reading the PC Games forum FAQ for a list of general solution for general gaming problems. Next, try the official game support forum, as well; this might already be listed as a known/solved bug.

Talking about the SC DA official forums I read there some time ago the game is still in very buggy state
