Error 67 question

I have a premium and get E67 on initial boot but if I cycle power it works fine. I tried a friends HD and I didn't get the error.

Assuming the HD is bad and the system is only a month old will MS replace the HD w/o me having to send the system to them...which for obvious reasons I cannot do!

Also....you think if I bought a new drive then put mine in the package the store would take it back?

If you buy an HDD from anywhere but a gamestop, they will take it back. Gamestop might only offer an exchange or store credit.

I don't know MS's policy on the HDD, but I doubt that the whole system would need to be sent in.

Ok.....

what if it turns out the SATA controler is bad?

Anywhere I can send it to to have it fixed or am i SOL.

If your friends HDD worked, then I doubt that the sata controller is bad. I would just replace the hard drive.

When I had this problem, they simply sent me a new Hard Disk out - no need to send the system and things back in - I didn't even need to send the old HDD in. My HDD wouldn't even let the system boot (constant E67).

Anyway, a few days later I had an email about my 'Xbox Parts' being sent out and a few days after that my new HDD showed up :)

Well I called. They are going to swap my HD out for another one.

Now I have to buy one of those stupid memory modules to put my profile and saved games on and still be able to play for 3 weeks till my new drive shows up!

Wow that sucks. Those things are like half the cost of an HDD. I hope you try to get one used.

I had this problem,e65on 360 pls help

Call support and ask to swap out the HDD? If it is not under warranty, then I think your only option is to buy a new HDD.

A patch for a windows XP networking problem has nothing to do with the 2-month-old issue at hand.

Considering the other posts you have made, please do not post in the xbox forums if your replies or threads have nothing to do with Xbox/360, or topic at hand.
