gonna get a new ps2 and probably go with the slim one, but what is the better modchip to go with? i dont want a $50 modchip either. I had a magic2 in my 39001 forever and it worked perfect.

But I thought that was a $50 chip (At least it is in the UK at around £25). If you want a chip with features like that, go with either a crystal or a Matrix Infinity as they are MUCH better options, and the crystal is only around £2 more here in the UK :)

P.S. The Duo 3 is just called Duo 3. If you've found a Duo 3 GT, it'll be a clone - check out www.duomodchip.com

both chips mentioned are $20 here in the USA.

Well, personally if it were my choice, I'd go for the Duo 3 within your price range.

Failing that, if you wanted a chip of the Ghost type, then i'd spend that little extra and get a well-supported mod (i.e. Crystal or Infinity).
