whats wrong that you need a patch?

prob to get it to work on the harddrive, thats why i got on here to ask if its compatible. what mode? also whats all that other garbage on the menu besides modes a/b/c? i.e.-soul caliber, turn off dvd9 etc etc., thanks---sorry to kinda jack this post
