NFS Carbon crashs...not nemore {Problem solved}

I ve a Toshiba A100-237 1.83GHZ core duo laptop with 1.5GB of DDR2 533MHz RAM & a X1600 (0x71C5) GFX card with 256MB dedicated & 256 shared (512MB in all) VRAM. And I neva had any problems with any other games (NFS MW; Quake 4;Doom 3; Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter; Oblivion; F.E.A.R; all the 3 POPs, etc)
But when I tried 2 install NFS Carbon...it kept quiting with the Window saying "I don't ve Direct X & 2 goto MS site & download it" eventhough I ve the latest 9c (4.09.0000.0904).
So I went 2 EA games support & they asked me to copy paste the DSETUP.dll from the DirectX folder on the DVD to my System32 folder so I did (replacing the original without backing it up  ) it still didn't work so I also copyed the dsetup32.dll to the same folder (this time I didn't ve 2 replace any file  ) and this time the game started 2 install which went very smooth.
Then as clicked Play, I got a blank screen (the 1 U generally get when the game starts with its default resolution) but instead of getting all the EA games startup crap & that chic telling me to do all my racing in the game & Drive safely on the road, I got the blue screen of Death...1st time on my laptop  I tried running it through the Desktop shotcut, also tried running it through the Razor no DVD crack by replacing the .exe in the installed folder but the same blue screen when I run it.
So I clicked EAsy Info on the DVD & I got this:

System Overview / Comparison
Your System Results Game Requirements

Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (Build 2600) Pass Windows XP/2000

System Memory 1535.0 Pass 512.0

Processor Speed 1828.7 Pass 1700 MHz (1.7 GHz)

DirectX Version 9.0c Pass 9.0c

Display Device ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 Unknown Compatibility

Display Memory 512.0 Pass 64.0

Display Driver 6.14.10.6587 Unknown Compatibility

Sound Device Realtek HD Audio output Pass

Sound Driver 5.10.00.5200 Unknown Compatibility

Could it be that it ain't compateble with my laptop :( Or do U guys think I can get it 2 work through some patch/safe disc/etc...I ve no experience with it.
And How do I get help from EA game ???
Sorry for the long post but I wanted 2 be clear (m desperate) & thank U for reading (even if U don't know what I could do) But pls pls help me out.

What does the BSOD (blue screen of death) says?

IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL?

If so in BSOD there is also an .sys file mentioned, this one is?
Ati***.sys? If yes try another ati driver (older, newer, omega).

has33 05-11-2006 11:03

I m sorry but the BSOD is only 4 a few milisec & I tried but couldn't get what it was saying
Also...I searched for Ati....sys but that default search didn't find any file...where do U think I should look for it ???
And m a total noob with ATI GFX card & don't know any site where I can get new/old drivers & that atitech.com doesn't ve any drivers for my GFX card as it is a for notebook computers.
Even toshiba support site gave no result for Display Drivers for my notebook :o

OK...so I found a link 2 Driver updade...also DHModtool4c, a tool that'll mod my X1600 2 do what it is actually suppose to (toshiba blocks some of its performance 2 give better speeds)
I also updated my bios 2 Version 2.
Now lemme update my display driver & report how it goes.

(Wrong forum, moved.)

Your DirectX is quite far from the latest; read the forum FAQ. Also, read the Windows documentation on how to keep BSOD's on the screen instead of an automatic instant reboot (must be somewhere in Control Panel/System).

Ya...I know...but I installed the cab file in DiretX folder of the NFS Carbon DVD when it wasn't installing.
BTW...I got the game working :D Just had 2 update my drivers :p And the game runs fine using the Razor supplied NoDVD crack found on the other thread ;) So now I can keep my DVD safely without it getting all scratched up like my MW DVD  Thank's 'lot Blazkowicz 4 guiding me in the right direction :) Otherwise I was thinking erasing & re-installing Directx  Or even Fresh installing Windows

I've got a similar problem, except that I do not get BSOD, but my PC simply restarts when I start the NODVD exe. It's the razr1911 one. Anyone has the same problem or knows of a solution?

EDIT: I have now tried with the mini-image currently on Gamecopyworld, but the exact same happens.

Razor 911

Heard stories about razor 911 remember i had and seen trojans hidden inside their programs becareful it may destroy ur computer when utilising them
JUST A WARNING IT HAPPEN TO ME!! :) BSOD

Joe Forster/STA 09-11-2006 16:53

I'm sure you get the same if you don't use a crack. It's a driver-related problem; read the forum FAQ.
