To build or not to build, that is the big dilemma ...

What's up everyone!! First off I want to say Hi to everyone since I'm new to this forum.

Now on to my topic. I recently bought my dc and now have a bunch of racing games. So I went ahead and bought me a steering wheel (mad catz mc2 racing wheel). It is so kool to play racing games with racing wheel, but at the same time is very uncomfortable. So I'm thinking ... is there a place where I could buy one of those arcade racing boxes or whatever you call it, that thing where you sit on at the arcades so you can race comfortably (just the furniture I would say, with nothing else). I know these things are expensive, but I'm thinking buying a banged up one and then repairing it myself.
Does anyone know how much one of these things would cost ??

Or would it be cheaper building it myself ?? I have a friend who is a carpenter who builds stuff for me for free, all i have to do is buy the material. He built my desk, big ass desk, and it's so nice, and then I painted it myself and it's so kool.

I know you guys like me are game addicts (well not all of u), and maybe you guys have some idea of what to do to play more comfortably or any ideas as to what you guys have done/built ??
Thankx a lot for the input, :)

Get your carpenter m8 to build one, it'll be cheaper!

That way you can also spec up how you wanna be sitting (you may want some tilt), the width, etc.

You could visit a scrap yard, and grab yourself the car seat of a Rover 2800 (old model car!) or such like. These have some wicked springs on the bottom and are really comfy (a friend has one as his easy chair ! :)). You could then attach something from the base that come up between your legs as a steering column and you could have a kind of table to place the steering kit on. Now that sounds like a cheap, comfy and very bizzare thing to do! :)
