Installing from original dics. Autorun seems to be the only setup file. But it attempts to install DirectX when I've already got the latest, then stops half way through installing the new version of directx despite me having it and saying it can't continue without directx 9.0c 'cause the game needs it. Pissing game.

And what's your question ???

Download the latest DirectX from micosoft and install it manually before you install the game. Even tho you say you already have it installed, install it again. ;)

I rushed that post 'cause I was off out :) sorry, the point was, it attempts to install directx 9.0c itselfs but gets half way through and then pops up the message that it can't install 'cause it needs directx 9.0c. What! But you were just installing it dump arse but gave up? What! Sorry, talking to my PC then :)

I'll give it a try then and install direct for ms. Although I'm sure I have the latest version as I've been playing Scarface.

It's no good. Even a install of directx from MS themselfs, then running the Fifa 07 install, Fifa still insists on attempting to install directx again. Pain in the arse.

Read the forum FAQ. In the end, you'll have to contact the publisher anyway, though...

Yep I did call the publishers in the end, turns out the DirectX directory on the DVD is faulty they are gonna send out a new one, however they did suggest this work around for installing the game and it worked.

Copy the contents of the dvd to the HDD, then download DirectX from MS. Unpack it into a directory, then copy the contents of that directory (with all the unpacked DirectX files in it), over to the Fifa 07 DirectX directory. Then click the autoran. It will still insist on installing DirectX but this time won't fall over.

Hope that helps anyone with similar problems.
