Jaws Unleashed

help.. everytime I try to install the game I get:
"The wizard was interrupted before Jaws Unleashed could be completely installed."
I bet its because of my OS, which is X64 pro! but is there no way to install it then?
damnit I wanna play this game :(

Joe Forster/STA 21-10-2006 15:22

(Wrong forum, moved.)

Have you read the system requirements? Have you contacted the publisher?

XerraX 21-10-2006 18:24

i have the same problem :D

I am using Vista Build 5744 x86

DABhand 22-10-2006 00:31

X64 should work.

Vista is still beta, why do people assume things will work on Vista :P

If your going to use Vista, if you have a 2nd drive do dual boot with XP Pro/Home. So if it dont work on Vista then it will on XP pro/home.

Oh and I assume you checked the specifications before you bought the game.

tehhaxxor23 22-10-2006 02:58

yes I meet the requirements. well except for X64.. and it's a problem in general, not just on my machine obviously! dunno what to do.
contacted support already but they didnt answer yet

tehhaxxor23 22-10-2006 07:50

ok what I've done is, install windows xp on another partition. then, insert the jaws cd while running winxp. installed fine.
copied over some registry entries which are required to run the game (try searching for "Jaws" in the registry at HKLM\Software\) to win64 registry.
then simply played the game while running winx64.
removed winxp again. :)

Joe Forster/STA 22-10-2006 14:00

Oh, the idiots released a game supporting 64-bit OS'es with an installer that doesn't... :D

XerraX 22-10-2006 15:29

well everything worked until now

i think there is some kind of protection in that installer, because one time i got a "safedisc protection error message" while trieing to install.

tehhaxxor23 can you please send me the registry file and the paths so i can extract my game out of the cabs?

tehhaxxor23 24-10-2006 04:28

a.reg:
Code:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Majesco\Jaws Unleashed]
"Language"=dword:00000409
"ExecutePath"="D:\\Games\\Majesco Entertainment\\Jaws Unleashed\\"
"MovieFolder"="D:\\Games\\Majesco Entertainment\\Jaws Unleashed\\\\movie"
"DataFolder"="D:\\Games\\Majesco Entertainment\\Jaws Unleashed\\\\data"

you gotta change the games paths of course (D:\\Games...)

HellasVagabond 28-10-2006 02:32

You have got to be *BEEP* me....
So in order to install that game one must install windows XP , install the game, copy the registry entries and then go back to XP x64 and play it ???
What kinda of F**** Solution is that ????

DABhand 28-10-2006 05:17

Your not computer savvy are you.

You make a new text file you copy the before mentioned lines above your post into the file.

And save as a.reg

You then double click a.reg and say yes to add to registry.

HellasVagabond 28-10-2006 06:27

You still have to have it installed in that place in order for the reg key to work.
Its not a valid fix.

No you change the path to suit yours. Then add it to the registry like Dabhand said.

HellasVagabond 28-10-2006 08:34

Grumpy ive tried it 3 times already.

Like the guy said..He installed it using a windows xp x32 version and copied the reg keys...After that he booted again this time to the x64 version that he has in the SAME rig , entered the reg key and then he could play.
The game MUST be Installed in the folder you enter in the reg key in order for the reg key to work. The problem is that i cant install it and im not about to install windows xp x32 to make it work.

TippeX 28-10-2006 09:26

then contact the games technical support, stating the error and see what they say..
