i know its difficult, but is there somewhere something to find about?

isn´t the protection just a "product activation"? i don´t think it uses an iso protection.

I found a crack for this game, but hasn't the time to test it.
It's three files: api.dll, fsui.dll, main.dll
(included was an NFO by SiLENTGATE, without any info about the protection.)

I rared the threee cracked files and the three original files for you, because PID5.1f find nothing in it. (perhaps you want to check this out :D )

may i ask why you need to bypass the activation?
afaik there isn´t even a disc check so simply register with your serial.

It´s very easy. You can only activate two time by internet or fon (robot). After that, you have to speak to somebody from MS to activate.

I install my PC two or three times a year and I change my Notebook every year, so it´s just nerving for me to call and say: Please give me a new key . . .

Seems this is like GalCiv2, online activation, so trying to bypass it should not be covered in this forum, IMO!

@all the guys who only register to this forum to ask me via pm to get the crack: NO !!!

No, that is very difference - I have GalCiv 2 since Beta. In that time since now I had three Notebooks and I reinstalled my PC 2 - 3 times. I can reactivate the Software without Problems with every new PC via Internet. AND: I have just to save one small file to activate it on the same PC again after reinstall - and the developers published in the forum which file it is. That is service and there is no need to have a crack!

@0 0 7: I understand your concerns over limits of activation, but those limits are what you agreed to when activating the game.

I just think any game that doesn't employ physical copy protection has no place being discussed in this forum as it does not prevent you from making a working back up, this is not the case where physical copy protections are employed like Securom, Safedisc, Starforce, Tagès etc on DVD!!

How do the mods feel about this topic of discussing cracks for online activated games?

No! Right now, I have the box in my hands - there is not one single word about the online activation!

This is nothing personal against you 0 0 7, i'm only talking about games software using activation technology, not the people that use it so please don't get the wrong idea I'm bashing YOU, i'm not. The mods will put a stop to that if they feel I'm out of line.

There should be reference to activation in the EULA or at least the Readme, and you'll definitely know it has activation when you run the program.

And I'm led to believe you're allowed to make a backup of the software anyway, so that shows it's not got any physical copy protection. It's the same reason why cracks to bypass serial activation or Steam activation are not allowed, there's no physical copy protection so there is nothing to crack!

Hopefully the mods will decide whether to keep this topic open or not, and whether to allow online activation cracks to be dsicussed.
