ePSXe 1.6.0 (CD not running)
Ok!
I have downloaded and installed a PS Emulator on my PC. I have done everything to make it run the game. I have also downloaded a "patch" for the specific game I want to play. It's a very old game for you all, but I really like it. Since I have no PS, I decided to download an emulator. But it doesn't work correctly. I've downloaded the "bios", the video and the sound patches, but still, not working. The game is "Final Fantasy Tacticts" and I'm inserting the original CD inside the DVD-Room on my PC. Could anyone in this forum can tell me what to do to make it run??? |
Huh? This is PC Games not Playstation Games.
Try in the Playstation forum, they may know the emulator better. |
I still play FF Tactics using ePSXe. I'm using a bin/cue image of the disc. You should try creating a bin/cue image of the CD and use the ISO reader plugin. Your DVD drive may have problems reading the disc properly within the emulator.

Moved to the correct forum. ;)

You should config --> cd-rom in emulator but better way is to make (bin+cue or ccd+img+sub) image using alcohol 120%, clone cd or cdrwin

BarryB, I'm really sorry for the confusion but I thought that since I'm playing a PS Game on a Computer, I should go to the PC forum. I apolpgize for the inconvenient that this may cause you.:o
Thanks Moderator Grumpy for moving my case to the correct Forum site.:D Thanks also to knightmare70 and DrEaMpLaY for the advise of cloning the cd onto my computer.:D But here is the big deal. I don't know how to make this "bin/cue" or "(bin+cue or ccd+img+sub) image" that you guys suggest me. I know just a little about computers, not too much... I'm a Graphic Designer and I only know how to use a computer for that matter... I have never tried to install anything other than Graphic Design Programs. Could you guys please help me with more specific details, such as where to go and what to do...:D Thanks a lot for the help! |
If you have any CD burning software you should be able to make a bin/cue copy of the CD. Look in the options for creating CD images to save the image as a bin or cue format.
If not, you can download Alcohol 120 from alcohol-soft.com. Here are the steps using Alcohol 120: 1. Click on Image Making Wizard 2. Select the drive with the FF Tactics CD & click Next 3. Select the location to save the image and enter a name for the files 4. Select "CDRWIN Image file (*.cue)" in the Image format list 5. Click Start This should create an image that will work. Make sure you have ePSXe configured to use the ISO image plugin. I'm using the "Mooby2 CD Disk Image Driver 2.8". |
Thanks a lot... I have made the Image... But I can't find the "Mooby2 CD Disk Image Driver 2.8"... Where can I get it?
*Sorry, I'm not to good at this kind of download and search stuff... |
OK!!!
Never mind... I tried to run just like that the iso, and it works very well... Just one thing... It's going as fast as hell... How can I make it go slower??? WOW!!! Thanks a lot dude... Thank God you guys created the Forum... Thanks a lot!!! |
You can slow it down by setting a FPS (frames per second) limit in the graphics display plugin. By default I think it is set to auto. Try limiting the FPS to 30-60. That should slow it down and make it playable.
I don't have it installed on the PC I'm using, so I can't say for sure where the setting is located. Just check the display settings. |
OK! That did it!
Now, I'm playing the game (Final Fantasy Tactics), and all the dialog boxes appear so well untill I get to the battle at "Mandalia Plains".... What do you think it's the problem??? Think it's the "Mooby2 CD Disk Image Driver 2.8" that I have not installed yet??? |
nope. you need to config graphics plugin.
for example on defaults "It might be NES" (nes emu for PS) is not visible :D You can also try EmuRayden PS emulator. It supports only cd-rom or virtual cd-rom (daemon, clone cd, nero image drive or alcohol120%). You need only to config keyboard / pc pad and to select memory cards. Its very easy even for beginners. |
I think it's my computer that doesn't work very well for this...
I'm so pissed off... Ok! What I'm going to do is give you my PC info and my mail... that way we can talk faster and live... Laptop Toshiba Satellite Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1.70GHz 1.69GHz, 256 MB of RAM 16 MB Video To play any CD/DVD I use an external DVD Room... (I think this might be the problem with my games. But how does affect the "Image" I made for the "ePSXe"??) I don't know... If you can help me anyway, this is my mail: davidferrer********com |
