Gothic 3 Copy Protection?
 

Hi,

does anyone know which Copy Protection Gothic 3 (German) uses? I tried to scan it with ProtectionID 5.1 but it found nothing.

latest is v5.1f ;)

Gothic 3 is protected with Tages v5.5.2.1 (dunno if basic/sdk) + JoWood´s X-Prot v2 as an additional protection layer.

It has exactly TAGÉS 5.5.2.1

So is there hope that a crack will be released in the near future?

depends on how deeply tages is integrated by the developers or if they just use the basic wrapper. i checked the recently released patch 1.
there are 2 additional x-prot protected files, engine.dll and game.dll wich needs to be unpacked too.

paraworld was cracked too, so why not gothic 3 as it uses the same protection.

I found something interesting on Wikipedia. The group Silentgate is quoted saying this in September 2006: "Gothic 3 might stay uncracked if its ok to play from the bug amount." If I read the reviews of Gothic 3 and the complaints about a large amount of bugs in many forums I guess it will not stay uncracked...

They said this sentence in the nfo from the warez version of Die Gilde 2. And they are right. Gilde 2 was buggy as hell and so is Gothic 3.

I have read the official forum and its amazing how many people cant even start the game. Its the most buggy game currently available.

But hey, they have TAGES ^^
