Playing import games in colour

i'm in the UK and recently bought a USA game. whenever i go to play it it is in black and white. is there a lead available to play the game in colour?

Which modchip do you have? Do you have one?

i had a chip installed years and years ago but it didn't let me play dvd games.

I am using swap disc for my games at the minute

have you got a scart cable? if not id try one of them, if not might be something to do with the chip method. hope it helps

yeah, its a scart cable, doesn't seem to work.

Ah...
Unfortunately, in order to get those games going in colour, you'll need to get a new chip which will let you force the video from NTSC standard to PAL, as Swap Magic doesn't convert video modes...

One thing you could try though - I believe they sell signal converter boxes over at Lik-Sang.com... Worth a shot? ;)

lik-sang out of business :(

Hey did you know lik sang has gone out of business due to multiple lawsuits from sony??? Go to the lik sang web site and check it out. This really sucks. Lik sang was very good to get imports from.

eh you can just get an rgb cable. If your tv supports ntsc 60hz (most semi modern tvs do) it should work.
the cable doesnt cost much. 10£ maybe.

I live in sweden and this works for me.

But in all respects, your PS2 has to be modded to boot games of a different region... Which yours is.

This guy has a VERY old Neo-type chip which I would expect to be the problem. Regardless of cable, a newer chip which can force the video mode is all that will be needed. :)

but then again, if he has a ps2 with the neo2 chip its probably to old to be worth modding.

I still think that an rgb cable will work. I had a v3 before and I used the cogswap + dvd region x with that one, I think I had some ntsc backups at that time and I never had any problems.
