Final Fantasy VII

Hex the FF7.exe at addresses 3AE608, 3AE614, 3AE620 you will see FF7DISC1, FF7DISC2, FF7DISC3 respectively.

Note, before making any changes it would be a good idea to save a backup of your original executable.

Change all 3 names to something like 'FF7__DVD' (There are 2 underscores in the name. Underscores are ISO 9660 compatible in names where dashes are not, keep that in mind when choosing a name. Also your disc name should use exactly 8 characters.)

Burn all the data to a DVD and label the DVD 'FF7__DVD' or whatever you decided.

I will gladly post my hexed exe if that doesn't violate any rules here.

Tried this and it works. Good job man.

Note: I used the german version where the values are different, but the method is the same.

Yes, that works (cdcheck.exe should be patched also). But the cd's are re quired in order to play from disc1' end! Can anyone give me the list of cd contents, so i can rollback the conversion? (yes, i no longer have the cd). thanks

how to patch it??
What do you mean the Cd is still needed?

Joe Forster/STA 24-01-2007 12:11

Probably some files, that are needed for playing the game, are not installed onto the hard disk, they're left on the CD...

still can not covert the cds to dvd , what i did is made a folder named FF7__DVD
and copied cd1 and cd2 and cd3 to it with overwrite when asked and brought the install disc and got the ff7 exe and hexed it like said at the specific addresses and then put the install disc to the same folder and it installs ok but when play it need to inser discs , so where went wrong?

GLH 12-03-2007 11:15

Seems you need a crack (fixed exe/nocd)...

alipik 12-03-2007 22:35

i will try that ,but i thought it would be taken care of in the hexing of ff7exe file or i need to hex more than those addresses?

ters 05-04-2007 20:19

FREEMAN100 09-04-2007 06:33

Custom Installer is on Cd-2-Dvd.Com for testing..Tested on XP Pro X86..Works fine..OH & cd1,2 & 3 are duplicates there not needed unless you select small install from the menu..If you choose MAX install all it looks for is the movie files from each disk

ters 12-04-2007 06:24

....

www.cd-2-dvd.com <-- there is no FF7 custom installer.. only FF8..
