Need to backup SEGA Football Manager 2006

hi just bought sega football manager 2006 : installed it and its scratched already from cd-drive. Can any helpful guy out there advise me which tools i need and how to do a backup of this game - i would really appreciate the help - i am told you need a special cddrive to read cetian sectos is this true
