Disc not spinning.....
 

ver7 PS2 with a Magic2 mod. I had it installed for yrs and working fine. PLayed some games last night and went to go play this morning and it wont boot any game. The tray doesnt spin the disc. i took it apart to see if any wires of the modchip came off and everything is good. any ideas what to check for?

Sounds like either a mainboard fuse has gone, the BA Chip has blown or the laser diode has blown.

Investigate these few issues and I'd pretty much guarantee it'll be one of these issues. If you'd like some help with that, then i'd be happy to talk you through a few things you could try...

i know where the BA chip is how do i test it? i have a multimeter. i have a pic of all the fuses on the MB. i think i noticed that fuse PS12 or 13 is for the DVDdrive. so i will check those for resistance.

also to note that the laser assembly does move when the reset button is pressed. and does move up and down.
