If you're not an administrator, log in as one.

If you're an administrator, enter Control Panel, launch System, go to the Hardware tab, press Driver Signing, select "Warn" (preferred) or "Ignore" (not really a good idea) in the upper frame and "Make this action the system default" in the lower frame. Press a few OK's and try again.

That was the first thing ive done when ive started having this issue, not working, any other ideas ??

There can be a configuration problem that is causing this. Fortunately/unfortunately, however, newer Windowses are very well-configurable, meaning tons of options you may have messed up. ;) I suggest you contact M$ support and/or the publishers of your games, with a proper, detailed problem report (read the Windows and game manuals on how to do that).

[Edit] Searching for the string "The software you are installing has not passed Windows Logo testing" on Altavista gives lots of hits. This M$ KB article is quite interesting: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=822798 . (By the way, last weekend we spent an hour with trying to make my new Net access at home work, putting about four different wi-fi cards into my PC. At the end, it turned out, that I disabled the DHCP client service; yeah, why would it be running on a LAN... Sometimes, you gotta try the simple solutions first!)

I dont think its about the windows version, cause I used this version for a long time and i didnt had this prb before (yes, i was able to install NFS and FEAR), its still the same version, config, etc, i will search on the web but if i dont solve the problem i might have to format and reinstall my OS, though i dont want that cause I need to backup a lot of data and reinstall all the apps, configure them my way, etc.

Thx anyway

Voila,,,, ive managed to fix the prb.

heres how: Due to to tweaking proccess ive disabled some of the XP unusable services, and it seems that the one service is responsible with this WHQL, the service name is Cryptographic Service. Now ive just set the service on manual, and all returned to normal, the service starts only when required, in that way u can keep your tweakings.

Thx all 4 help, and sorry 4 my bad eng

Uhm, well, re-enabling the Cryptographic Service is just about the very fast (possible) solution mentioned on the pages you can find on Altavista (or Google)...
