MY Laser has just started Clicking...bah what do i do?
 

Hi,

I have just encountered a problem with my PS2 (eiether a v9 or v10) with Matrix Infinity modchip.

I have just bought some Taiyo Yuden TYG03 16x DVD-R media, for my Sony DW-G120a burner. Everything burns fine, so too does the verifications, and DVD Bacups on my DVD Players, and Data Discs on my PC.

But when i have burned a PS2 game even though the PC can verify what is on the disc, when put into the PS2 the disc clicks about 2 or 3 times and then boots up the backup.

From what i recall this only happens when booting the backup, but should i be concerned by this, because it is quite loud, and i don't have a clue what is the problem, whether it is the media or the PS2?

I have looked at the disc and there are no scratch marks or rings, so i don't think its hitting the disc.

This suprises me cos i thought Taiyo Yudens were the best.

Classic laser symptoms are starting to kick in.

Adjust the white cog in the DVD Drive and you should be fine. Take a look in the Ultimate Info Sticky, or alternatively visit http://www.cyber-mag.com/station/laserPS2.htm for instructions. :)
