Over adjusted laser
Hi, was adjusting the laser cog, and adjusted around an entire rotation counter clockwise, it made a skipping noise, which I then realized was a spot on the gear with no teeth. I tried to rotate it back clockwise, but it won't turn past those missing teeth, even when I push the gear holder out of the way so it's not touch ing the gear any more.
Anyone ever seen this before? Does the position simply default back to the same position on each rotation? How can I get it back if it doesn't? Thanks |
ya this is normal just rotate the cog round roughly half way round it will only go one way do the half turn and test the machine

Thanks, the cog was marked on the prime positions for DVD-R and CD-R. Sucker still won't boot any disc though, in any of the marked positions or otherwise.

If you know what your doing and have a MM you can try a Pots adjustment. If not its time to send it to someone who can install a new laser :)
