Nightmare's ICQ-Pack

English:

Hi everyone,

I'm a big fan of ICQ. So I decided to create a pack.
Maybe it helps somebody.
(People, who already downloaded this pack, were satisfied.
It would be great if you would comment/test my work.
Especially my English :D
Here are some information about the package:
http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/6...qpacken4mg.jpg
(Also compatible with ICQ 5.0).

The following files will be changed:
Code:

LiteDataFiles -> banners.xml
Smilies -> Smiley1.bmp - Smiley28.bmp
Sounds -> Message.wav, Startup.wav
Backups -> All these files in standard.

Download Server 1
Download Server 2
588 KB, legal and free of viruses ;)

Perhaps I should write from where I have these sounds. But you will definitely find it out.

It also works with skins.
http://www.icq.com/download/icq5/skins.html

After you have installed a skin, no files of my pack are changed.

Here you find plenty of skins, too

Have fun! :)

Deutsch:

Hi,

http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/4068/icqpack3ix.jpg
(Auch mit Version 5.0 und ProSieben verwendbar)

Es werden folgende Dateien geändert:
Code:

LiteDataFiles -> banners.xml
Smilies -> Smiley1.bmp - Smiley28.bmp
Sounds -> Message.wav, Startup.wav

People are still using ICQ:confused:

Last time I used was several years ago and none of my friends are using it any longer.

But I guess for those that are using ICQ this package will be pretty neat... :)

I'm using ICQ 2003A (I think), with everything disabled and only people on the Contact List allowed to contact me at all. ;) It's not bad for discussing short work- or software-related problems with my colleagues (out of the office) or my coder friends.

Grumpy 23-06-2006 08:36

hmmm icq 2003A? Is that the last one before they released the version with all the advertising etc included?
I too used to use icq a long time ago but found most people moved onto either msn or even yahoo.
Personally I now tend to use msn more than the others. ;)

Joe Forster/STA 23-06-2006 08:47

No idea... It's just that ICQ 2003B doesn't work with our ultra-paranoid firewall anymore, not even with the settings that it imported from version 2003A. So, I downgraded it back...

kosmiq 23-06-2006 09:43

I stick to MSN, most people at work are using it too, my friends and almost everyone I know so it just is that way... :p

Nightmare 24-06-2006 11:59

OK, and what about my pack? :confused:

it's normal, it's included in every non-slimmed down Windows XP
and because the average people most likely do not search for alternatives they end up using MSN by MS o_O
