Read the FAQ on how to make cracks (no-CD patches or mini/maxi images) work.

AlonR 25-05-2006 03:37

What shouls i write in the MODEL and VENDOR of my emulator ?

Your name, your street address, some random character; whatever non-standard string will do.

As i wrote in another thread:
The patch you can download on gcw is for burning a cd-image. It will change the image that way, it'll work burned on a disc. Therefore you have to chose the vendor of the disc (if you were wondering what this option is all about) and burn it with alcohol using the securom *new* (not securom new 4/5) profile.

This Patch does nothing (!!!) if you just mount the image (dunno why there are those wrong instructions on gcw) ...

Firts about burning, I dont have those kind of cd's, I have of other companies.
Second, I succeed run the game. All I was need to do is unpluged all my cd/dvd roms from power. i tried just to disable them but it didnt work.

That's fine. But because all starforce protected games are playable by using a good image, DT 4.03 and by unplugging your optical ide drives my question on you is the following: what does this patch change for you  ?

AlonR 26-05-2006 01:34

Didnt know it..:)

BTW if i dont have one of the medias type from the option in the patch, i cant burn it on other type ?

With a proper cfg for sfcopy you can. Does your key start with "R" ? If yes, i'll post a short how to.

Yes it is.

usman 26-05-2006 10:42

Is there any simple way of playing it without unpluging Optical Drives ?

Tom Keller 26-05-2006 11:38

btw... there are instructions for the patch - written by the creators of the patch:
Quote:

Patching the image:
  • Unpack the mir-pjkkpt.rar in the rar you will find the tool.
  • Open the tool make sure you put it in the same directory as the image or just click browse to look for it.
  • Look what mediatype you like to use and select it from the dropdownbox.
  • Now click patchme and it will state patching in progress please wait!!
  • Due to a small bug it will not tell you when the image is done just check the directory (it uses the same directory as the old one but is called PATCHED).
The bug will be fixed in the next version it will then say patching done and maybe we even use a progress bar :)
futuremusic like tools for dvd raw dao and tages 1:1.
  • now go to the next step :p
After the patching steps burning ;):
  • Once the tool made the patched image open up Alcohol 120% v195 Build 3105
  • Click Image Burning Wizard and browse to the PATCHED image.
you will go to new screen.
  • Select here with datatype SECUROM *NEW* not SECUROM NEW 4/5!!
on write method raw dao needs to be selected now make sure the options \"rectify subchannel data\" and \"burn rmps to recordable media\" are both unticked.
  • Now hit start It will ask about the TOC select the first option (leave toc unmodified)
  • burn disk 2/3 with your favourite tool they are not protected.
After burning :
Install the game from the other disks and run it from a reader.

WARNING 1: Do only burn to the media you selected in the tool else it will surely fail.
WARNING 2: If you get verification failed during load and it asks for the serial your copy failed.
WARNING 3: Allthough this will improve the availablity of sfclonecds we can not guarantee it will work for every disk you burn SF stays wierd and even the same media will fail sometimes with a different batch
WARNING 4: You still need a DVDROM OR CDROM to run the image or offcourse a plextor with plextools pro :p

If all media of the same brand/modell would have similar topologies, this method could be called generic, but in reality it is hit and miss at its' best (which the "authors" slightly admit). Let's do it as it was meant to be:

- download THIS package and unrar (StarForce Copy Shell (sfcsh), Starforce CD/DVD analyzer (sfcdvd) and Starforce MDF booster (sfmdf) have to stay in same folder)
All credits go to AlB (BestMedia) and Dr.On (gsfdsf)

- open Windows-Editor and enter:

PJKong_1
R************************
227840 19
104448 22
326 19 359 189 163 226

Save as Kong.cfg

- create an image of your game and burn it to CD-RW (don't burn with RMPS)

- start sfcsh.exe and go to Step 2:SFCDVD; choose your drive and the cfg you've just created (in case you have bad/inconstant results try other speeds, 0=Auto), now start the measure with "Go!"

************************************************** ****************
sfcdvd measures the difference of six SF specific angles between original and CD-RW and
suggests a sector shift to simulate absolute density of original by inserting twinblocks
************************************************** ****************

Write down the suggested sector shift values and repeat the measure; only if you get constant results (which means very similar -or better the same- sector shift values) with at the same time low and similar "deviation values" (<0.2 ms, watch your log) you can add those values to your config with "Add in conf"; the config is now complete and ready to create a patched image

- go to Step 3: SFMDF; choose your cfg and your image (if your image doesn't contain sub-channel data you have to tick "Regeneration sub-channel"); start patching with "Go!"

- finally burn the patched image to the SAME CD-RW as before with Alcohol's Securom profile (when prompted choose the first TOC option)

Such copies don't run in burners connected to MB's IDE controller (maybe the usual exceptions: nForce, ULi,?)

Doesn't matter ;) Second line has just informal purpose (to ensure cfg fits your version; differnt key > different config), but must not be empty !
