CDV dumping StarForce
 

After Ubisoft (now using SecuROM for their games) also CDV is dumping the StarForce copy protection now and will use TAGES for future releases.

I noticed that some of the latest games from UbiSoft DON'T have Starforce protections. Ghost Recon AW for example.

Your all complaining about SF still?


Just remember even if everyone drops SF something else will come along and do the same.

Dunno why people even persist this against SF, like ive always said if you have bad problems running any SF game, ask SF staff nicely prove you have the game and they will give you a clean exe.

They will give you a clean exe ? Yeah right... They will give you a hardware specific cd-key - at most.

So are CDV going to release patches for their existing starforce protected games which remove the starforce protection?

there less tages cracks than starforce ;)

yes it is, if a protection can be done there are always ways to bypass them ;)

tages got different versions...
- tages basic
- tages + api (fahrenheit, asterix & oblix 2, echo, ragdoll kongfu german(?))
- tages + api + cap (you need to finish the game)

You obviously dont know what I meant, a clean exe isnt what your thinking.

There are less games protected with SF ;) That's the reason...

Clean exe meaning an unprotected one ? If thats true, I'll ask them for a SC3 exe, I always wanted to play it back and forth a second time but It's kind of scary installing the game... i managed to avoid any Sf driver on my WinXP isntallation, so...

I best say what I mean, a clean exe with a checking protection of course but with less heavy SF protection.

when your cd cannot be identified (scratches etc...) you can contact theit tech support.
afaik you´ll get a starforce proactive exe where u need input a serial wich will be generated by starforce-team. the serial depends on your hardware settings. oncee the serial has been entered the game runs and doesn´t have any disc check.

but i really doubt they´ll give you an unprotected exe.
i guess the game publisher doesn´t like to see this... ;)

i don´t think the games Ski Racing 2006, FastLane Carnage, Act of War High Treason, Pathologic & RagDoll KungFu (both german) needed to be finished to get cracked.

but look at Fahrenheit, Asterix & Obelix 2, Desperados 2, Panzer Elite...
these versions haven´t been cracked due custom code (protection can kick in during later levels of the game, remember XIII?).
