When you press A, B, X, or Y, your player does an action.

You have an option to play with or without the modchip when turning on your X-Box. How is this done.

Thanks (no more jokes please)

Depends on how the chip was installed. Mostly it is like this:
press power button to start the xbox and it will boot with chip on
press eject button to start the xbox and chip is off

some also installs it so it works like this:
press power button once fast - chip off
hold power button 2-3 secs - chip on.

I prefer a good 'old fashioned on/off switch :p

haha thats a way to complicate things... :P
Why solder 4 more points just to get that? :D

Quall999 19-05-2006 06:19

Well, the need to turn the chip off is a rare thing, so it really doesn't matter. My chip is before the power/eject time. Having a power button on my controller and having the chip perminately on is a great thing.

Haha, its that old you say... :D

Well to be honest I have never booted the xbox with the chip off... :p

Kinda easy to fix on the other hand. Solder BT to ground and its done.

I had to manually add a switch on the wire connected to the d0, and the bios chip could only be flashed once. Splitting the onboard tsop flash would be an upgrade.

Haha real old stuff... :D

I have a DuoX2 in my current xbox. Had gone through a few chips myself and installed a lot for others too. And I gotta say that DuoX2 is the best bang for the buck... :)

Sorry, I've been away. I tried it both ways and nothing happened. I try to explain what I have in my system.
X-Box 1.6b
X3 chip
200 Gig hd
front panel (can't remember what its called)

Is there some other way to do this.

Thanks

kosmiq 19-05-2006 23:50

Hmmm seems as if the guy that installed it made sure it always boots with chip on. See if you can find some switch somewhere.

Only other way is to either open the box yourself and take a look or ask the guy that installed it for you how it was installed.

That frontpanel you talk about, let me guess its one of these:
