Quake 4 Mac
 

Hi everyone

Does anyone know how to copy this? I made a working copy with CloneCD (Windows), but the new 1.2 patch seems to change the protection as it no longer recognises my backup copy (original still works fine). I just tried Alcohol and that doesn't seem to work either.

Basically, I insert the copy and run Quake 4.app, and it sits there bouncing for several seconds before asking me to insert the disk.

Any ideas?

Well, I'm awfully sorry but this is a PC game forum. (No, FileForums has no Mac forum...)

Last I heard, PC stood for Personal Computer, not Windows.

Damn, how wrong I was, you're so right that it is unbelievable!

I've also got a major problem with R.I.S.K., a great action/strategy game for the C64: when I'm way into a gaming session, some random characters (graphical blocks) start appearing in the upper left (or right?) corner of the screen. Soon, the game locks up. Only a few times did I manage to finish the game. As far as I remember, this occurs with the original, too, but, unfortunately, neither the developer nor the publisher exists anymore. Anyone ever tried a cracked version by Remember, if one exists? They always do a damn fine job, sometimes even fixing problems with the original game!

(Off-topic? Hell, no! The Commodore C64 is the most popular Personal Computer ever; according to Guiness Records, 22 million units have been sold worldwide.)
