Need help backing up PS2 CD game
 

Hey Everyone I am a newbie here in this forum but not to backing things up..I have been backing up my dvd's for quite awhile as well as my PS2 games...well ones on DVD that is..I just got a game called 'Freekstyle' and it is on cd as opposed to dvd..I am not sure how to back up this game so I can play it in my ps2, I use swap magic I might add...any help you guys can give me would be great!

Backing up CDs should be the same as doing your DVDs = make an image with your favourite burning software and burn to a good quality CD-R

I use Alcohol 120% - set the read and burn profile to PlayStation 2 and enjoy!

Thanks for your reply I did try using Alcohol 120% before I came on here using the posted guide...I also tried using Nero but for some reason when I put the back up in the ps2 it seemed to have trouble reading it it would just spin and stop spin and stop. Then my swap magic would say not a valid ps2 disc....this might be a dumb question but could it be copy protection? or does Alcohol 120% take that off?

If using swap magic You may need to patch the game. Check out www.swapmagicfix.com. There may be a patch there, Also be sure you dont get any read errors when creating the backup.
