my source say UBISOFT will NEVER(!!!) using starforce again... it's be confirmed by ubisoft itself... jeah :D :D :D

because of wardogg's sarcastic commentary i add a links to my sources

It's just been brought to my attention as to what Ubisoft will be using in place of the Starforce protection software. Every game copy sold will come with it's own licensed armed guard or off-duty police officer. They will stand by your computer to make sure you insert the disc everytime you attempt to play the game. Failure to follow these strict guidelines will result in a prompt pistol-whipping, followed shortly thereafter with your freshly purchased CD being confiscated and your computer sold off at auction for spare parts. Buyer beware.
Lo.OL - that's a hard protection. :D :D :D - pick up from here http://forums.ubi.com/groupee/forums...2661050234/p/7 ... loooooooool

No need to be sarcastic, he was just reporting from a german source that its true, incase it was a rumor. Dont start flames.

For me, it's no big deal. I never had any problems with Starforce (except for being forced to use the disc) and Ubisoft's game have always been worth the money. :-) But it's good news!

Does this mean that Ubisoft will now be releasing updates for all their SF protected games removing the copy protection???

If so I can finally play PoP:T2T without it resetting my router everytime I play the game!

Probably not! Why should they do that? In order to help people, which don't have an original bought copy of the their StarForce games? They would really be idiots, if they would do so!
Ubisoft has decided not to use StarForce for their published games in the future, for already released games this won't change anything!

But of course, it's really good news that after EA and now Ubisoft, the two biggest game publishers refuse using this copy protection totally / for the future!

Hopefully some more publishers will follow this example, like Codemasters and CDV which are known for using the StarForce copy protection in any of their games.

I can see your point. Just wishfull thinking I guess? It's that just having PoP:T2T installed kills my network. It's the only SF protected game that does this.

WardoggOne 14-04-2006 16:38

they should. but only replacements. however there are some ubisoft games i wanted (like chaos theory) that i want to use on my rig but i settled for xbox version.

they should rerelease SF games with non sf games. hopefully they'll release ghost recon advanced warfighter with out sf. that game owns on xbox 360!!!!

glenbo 14-04-2006 16:41

if they are dumping it,i think they should bring out patchs for all the games removing the starforce.
