Doom 3

Create a Temp folder on your harddrive. Name this folder DOOM3_DVD. This will be the name of our DVD
Copy all the files from CD1 to this folder.
Now copy all .PK4 files from the Setup/Data/Base Folders from CD2&3 to the setup/data/base folder in the Temp folder.
Do NOT copy any other files from CD2 or CD3 or you will ruin the autorun file.
Now using Orca (or Masai Editor) right click the file 'Doom 3.msi' and from near the top of the menu choose ‘Edit with Orca’. (You may have to edit the properties of this file to make it read only, but as it is copied to the harddrive it is probably already edited automatically)
When opened you will see 2 window panes, go to the ‘Tables’ one on the left and scroll down to ‘Media’
Click on ‘Media’ this will show you the entries in the Right pane.
Change all the entries in the ‘VolumeLabel’ column to Doom3_DVD
Then ‘Save’ it. (You can also use a program called ‘Masai Editor’ instead of ‘Orca’)
Create another folder for the Updates, Serial, Patches and or Cracks etc. Name this folder whatever you want.
Now burn to a DVD using Nero with the Label DOOM3_DVD
Install it and replace the ‘Doom3.exe’ with the cracked one you should have placed in the Cracks (Patches) folder.

Now you can play the game without using a CD!

Safedic 3

Hi there

I no this thread is old so Im hoping someone sees this post. I notice this guide says to use a craked .exe to get round safedisc 3, but now there is software out that can get round that. Can anyone tell me the best way to get round the protection after folowing this guide

Thanx for your help

Hmmm, if i remember correctly the later official updates removes the CD Check anyway? I will have to check that though!
The NoCD crack i mention is to get around the CD Check, not to get around Safedisc. ;)

Grumpy you are right the latest update does disable cd check just apply the update then play the game

Thanks for the confirmation 'isee'. ;)

protection

Thanx for clearing that up but how do i get round safedisc?

Thanx

Did you actually read what the others wrote?! The latest update removes the copy protection so there remains nothing to get around...

(By the way, wrong forum! Grumpy, could you, please, move off-topic posts up into the "PC games" forum? Thanks!)

ShadoWolf 11-03-2006 04:18

sorry

Sorry, I didnt explain my self well enough.

what I meant was:

Thanx for the info about the update, I shall use it to get round safedisc 3 on doom. but for future reference how would I get round safedisc 3 if there is no update that gets round it fir that particular game? what software can I use etc

thanx for being patient and thanx for all your help

Doom 3 Protection

Hi there

I am trying to back my Doom 3 Cds onto DVD to save cds and I have followed the very helpful guide in the cd to DVD forum but I would like to know, as the files are now on my hard drive, how do I get round safedisc 3? I have used alcohol 120% in the past but you canot copy files from the hard drive to DVD with alcohol 120%, any thoughts?

Thanx for your help

Hasn't Safedisc been removed in the latest official update?!

Grumpy 14-03-2006 09:19

Just copy the files to the DVD like the guide (conversion) says but include the latest updates, that way you wont need a NoCD as the latest updates removes the CD Check. So you dont have to worry about the safedisc protection.
Once you have the converted DVD, just install then update, then play the game without the DVD or CD in the drive. ;)

Grumpy, wanna move/add/merge this thread to the appropriate thread in the CD2DVD subforum?

Grumpy 14-03-2006 09:50

@Joe
Moved and Merged. ;)
And I also just noticed ShadoWolf had already asked these questions in this original thread! lol
