DVD Decrpter obselete? ANYDVD any good?

Hello all,
Just a few questions. Any advise is much appreciated. Apologies if I'm beating a dead horse with my topics.

1. Is DVD Decrypter totally gone? If not, has it been surpassed in back-up effiency by other programs?

2. Is ANYDVD the way to go? If so, do they provide updates once purchased?

I have tried both. Both work fine; however, DVD Decrypter is about three times faster than AnyDVD when creating an image of a factory-made, CSS-protected video DVD.

Yes, frequent updates are provided. As soon as there is a new kind of protection it will be implemented within days.

If you want to use freeware for newer protections (ARccOS, RipGuard) go for DVDFab Decrypter or FixVTS (also included in AnyDVD since 5.9.1.1 called "AnyDVD Ripper") + a 9to5 conversion program like DVD Shrink

DVD Decrypter is capable of ripping most ARccOS titles, but without PSL-file (Protected sectors list) this may take VEEERY long

Thanks much Zulu & Joe,
Regarding the freeware option, where might I find DVD Fab. or FixVTS?

I use DVD decrypter with any dvd...

To avoid any potential dodgy reads, just go into the config in decrypter, click the CSS tab and change the cracking method to "none" and then on the general tab, untick "check for structure protection"

Then rip the disk in file mode...

I've got a few Arccos titles and its no slower than dvd decrypter ever was with its PSL files? Can't be sure of this, but can't say i've noticed it at least.
