Try removing the Starforce drivers: http://www.onlinesecurity-on.com/protect.phtml?c=55 .

Hi,

I have the same Problem with X3 and Trackmania Sunrise. I removed the Starforce Drivers and used Deamon Tools and Starforce Nightmare to hide my virtual drives. It didn't help once i got the Games started that was when I unplugged the power cable and the IDE cable from my CD-Drives...

But I'm not in the mood to open my PC every time I want to play these damm games.

So question to you guys:

Would the game work, if I burn the Image of the game which I created with alcohol 120 to DVD, and then try to start the game with the burned DVD inside my DVD-Drive? My hope Starfoce would recognize the disk in the "real" DVD Drive and keep it for the original Disk?
Of course I would disable my virtual drives afore.

My intention is, to prevent my orginal disk from scratces and damages that might appear due to allday-handling and useing.

best regards

u can also disable ur optical ide devices about the BIOS. change status to not installed or disabled (depending by ur motherboard) and restart ur pc. no need to disconnect anything.

thats very much motherboard/chipset dependant... the starforce drivers can (if a compatible chipset is found) scan the atapi chain to find cd/dvd drives that you have disabled.. so while the information you state may well indeed work for you, it wont work for everyone

Hi,

I disabled my Cd-drives via the BIOS but now my Windows XP can't start up.
There is no explict error warning but it shows only the "loading" screen so I can't acess to the desktop. Any idea why that is?

Do I have to disable my CD-Drives first in Windows and then in the BIOS?

By the way... There exists a crack for Worms 4, the game seems to be in the same way protected like TM Sunrise and X3. Isn't it possible to develop on this base a crack for X3 or TM Sunrise for example?

take care

Cracking Starforce includes a lot of manual work. (I guess; I'm way too uneducated in this matter to even start trying to crack it...) Knowing how to crack one Starforce-protected game doesn't make it much easier to crack another.

This is possible only if you have optical drive connected through usb or firewire because only in this way the emulation of alcohol 120% or daemon tools is able to fool starforce that the disc is ok.If you try this with your ide optical drives it will not work because starforce will have direct access to them and the emulation won't work. There is no chance to make a perfect copy also because it is not possible to burn DVD in RAW mode and this is needed to copy the exact topology of the original DVD.

Thanks guys i tried starforge removal tools but did not work I think i have to reformat!

Hi,

Maybe the next version of Deamon Tools will be able to disconnect the Cd Drives in a proper way, so that Starforce cant't recognize them..

Does anyone know when the next version is released?

I figured out a odd thing about Trackmania Sunrise: When I install the game new, it starts without even asking for the serial, or restarting the PC. But when I intend to play a second time the game doesn't start...Strange..
