Copy Protection PS1 game on Ps2
Hey all, I got a quick question. I'm trying to play Wild Arms 2, a ps1 game with anti-mod protection, on my ps2. Wild Arms 2 is the original (not a backup) but I do have a Messiah 2 Pro chip in my ps2 and it's detecting that and stopping me from playing even though the game isn't a backup or anything. I don't have my ps1 anymore so playing it on my ps2 is my only option.
Is there anyway I can load the game and get past the anti-mod protection? I believe this is the same protection other games like Crash Bash and, I think, Dino Crisis had, so it's not just a Wild Arms 2 thing. I THINK when I got my Messiah 2 Pro, I got a thing of instructions including how to put the chip on sleep mode, but the paper is long gone and I don't remember. I think I've tried every powering combination anyway with no luck so far. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks! |
You can create a backup with cdrwin and patch it with the "Protection fix" patch at www.megagames.com. To disable the modchip i 'think' you restart the console by pressing and holding reset for 5 sec. I may be wrong though, its been a long time since i fooled with a messiah chip.

This GS code should bypass the protection

Thanks, that did the trick nicely!
