Help with The Regiment please

Have used the No CD crack as supplied by Gamecopy world.
Game starts fine, lets me play the Training all the way through without any problems.

However when come to start 1st Mission "THE EMBASSY" after starts to load I get the following message:

"Can't change resolution whilst render device is locked"

I click next button for further information and get the following message:

"Critical Error"

Create texture failed (8007000=E_out of memory.)

My system is:

Pentium4 3.2Ghz
1GB Dual Channel Memory
FX 5900XT Graphics
Creative Audigy Sound Card
Samsung 970P Digital Monitor (Native res: 1280 x 1024)
but have set res to 1024 x 768 as this default for game, have also tried my monitor's native res .but get the same problem.

I have left all configurations set to default

Never had a problem like this before with any game, I would be very grateful if any one has an answer.

Thanks for your help

Does this work without the crack?

If not, you should contact the developer/publisher to get technical support as we didnt make the game :P

Ok have resolved,

There seems to be a bug in the sound driver, had changed my audio configuration from "software" to "hardware and enabled EAX.

I reset back to "software" and disabled EAX everything now works ok, both with original and with NO CD Crack.

Hope this might help someone else with same problem.

While you can fix it by disabling hardware sound and EAX, the better fix is just updating your sound card drivers. Everyone that I've heard that's had this problem is running some sort of Audigy (1, 2, or 4). I had the problem myself.

Creative Labs released a new driver at the end of January and the game works fine in hardware mode using that.

Most people tend to forget about updating sound drivers since in most cases they make little difference and driver versions aren't released often. In this case, it makes a difference.

Thanks for the update on driver, much appreciated getting it now.

cheers

That link for the update doesnt work for me. Here is a working one: http://www.3dgamers.com/dlselect/gam...60206.zip.html

Thanks for prompting me that there is an update.

update means new crack...

New udate? But than you need a crack for the update again...
right, there's not one yet

And yes, I also have this sound error and thus no sound. Not in
software- or hardware mode. Strange.
Hope this gets updated or patched soon.
tnx

;)

Thanks for the info i tryed the sound to software mode and it works fine now without the nocd crack , but with the nocd crack (1.0) my sound stutters.

my sound card is an Audigy 4 ,with the latest whql drivers.

I go to try the SB beta drivers looks what happenes then, in case it have no cure i gonna look to the configuration files of the game.

Also i gonna try to lower SB latency settings ,with Pci latency tools.

Let u guys know soon for the outcome of my experiments.

What's the problem to insert your disk,? it takes 20 seconds .

donkman 05-03-2006 12:55

There's no problem inserting the disc ogimos, what gave you that idea?
If it would help I would do that, dontcha think I tried that?
Besides, when u use the upgrade 160206 it won't help anymore....
But without the upgrade, inserting the disc is no option. Tried virtual
disc mounted and meanwhile I burned the dvd... won't work.
Guess I will follow the idea of upgrading soundcard or so, but that's
up to date already I guess, always take care of those things when
installing an OS.
What else is new...
