Quake 4 & Norton firewall
I've blocked the quake4.exe executable from connecting to the internet in norton personal firewall but quake seems to be able to contact the authorization server anyway. How come?

The only reason you would want to do that is so that it doesnt check wether your copy is legal as its a famous thing about quake 4 and "scene released" versions.

Therefore it interests me how the q4 exe manages to get a connection. If it can connect to the internet then other applications might as well. E |
