new mod questions?
 

ive just fitted a DMS4 EZi solderless chip to my v10 ps2 and i have a few problems i could do with some help.
the chip install seems fine as i can disable the chip and activate fastboot but i scuffed the end of the laser ribbon. so i trimmed the end and reinserted it.
im now getting "disc read error" with every disc. presumably i need a new ribbon?
also the disc stopped spinning?
i played around with the white cogs and i can get it to spin with dvd or cd but not both?
now ive got a black screen on boot with no logo?
any ideas????:confused:

ok sorted the black screen. it was too much pressure on the chip.
still stuck on the rest though?

Congrats man, What turned out to be the problem??

the ribbon to the laser - i had trimmed it at a angle so it was'nt making propper contact, trimmed it straight and adjusted white cogs.
motor not spinning - the ribbon was'nt in fully, secured it properly.
black screen of death - there was too much pressure on the chip from the metal plate (prob from all the messing about i had been doing on top tryin to fix the laser and motor) so i removed all the screws fron the plate and just cliped it back together without the screws.
now it all works perfect:D
im well impressed as ive never done anything like this before (thats why i opted for the solderless option):D
