VGA v Componant

Ok Panasonic 42in Plasma TV is arriving on friday.
Should i use the componant cable that came with the 360 or buy the VGA HD AV Cable?

Buy that VGA Cable. I did. And I THINK is a little better.
First I connected via YUV and then via VGA.

VGA is the winner. (But it is just a small gain of quality)

PEACE

Well, I guess it would depend if your TV natively is natively interlaced or progressive (plasma's are progressive). One format is converted to the other.

If it is progressive and supports higher resolution than 1280x720, than I'd say go with the vga cable. If your set is only 1280x720 and progressive, or if your television is interlaced and not progressive, then go with composite.

Remember, it is not about what it supports, but what it does. I wouldn't go with vga if your tv is just going to convert it to 1080i, and if your set won't do anything higher than 720p then vga will get resized to fit the screen.

Try out the cables you got first, you may like the results enough to not matter.

True. I know a guy at my local store. He demonstrated me the difference.
If I had not seen it there I would have not bought the thing.

But I like it.

From the link:
Number of Pixels:
786,432 (1,024 x 768) pixels

1024x768p. You will probably get a better image with the vga cables, as that is one of the resolutions it outputs and it shouldn't be scaled. The colors are usually more accurate as well (since color signals are not shared on cables like component).

I'd get the vga cables, if you don't see a difference then I guess you could return them. for a refund.

Go VGA Eh!

Dont be gay go VGA!!!Dont be gay go VGA!!! By the way I have proview 32" lcd it looked about twice as good as component did. Component changes your signal to the dreaded analog signal.:(

OK sorted it.
1. Plug 360 up to tv using scart.
2. Set to pal 60 mode in settings.
3. Plug backup using VGA cable and away you go :)
