VGA v Componant
Ok Panasonic 42in Plasma TV is arriving on friday.
Should i use the componant cable that came with the 360 or buy the VGA HD AV Cable? |
Buy that VGA Cable. I did. And I THINK is a little better.
First I connected via YUV and then via VGA. VGA is the winner. (But it is just a small gain of quality) PEACE |
edit:
dupilicate post. |
Well, I guess it would depend if your TV natively is natively interlaced or progressive (plasma's are progressive). One format is converted to the other.
If it is progressive and supports higher resolution than 1280x720, than I'd say go with the vga cable. If your set is only 1280x720 and progressive, or if your television is interlaced and not progressive, then go with composite. Remember, it is not about what it supports, but what it does. I wouldn't go with vga if your tv is just going to convert it to 1080i, and if your set won't do anything higher than 720p then vga will get resized to fit the screen. Try out the cables you got first, you may like the results enough to not matter. |

True. I know a guy at my local store. He demonstrated me the difference. If I had not seen it there I would have not bought the thing. But I like it. PEACE |
Ok i think its 1280*720 progresive scan (taking delivary on friday)
Some spec is on this link http://www.panasonic.co.uk/plasma-tv...0cab/index.htm Thanks Suggy |
From the link:
Number of Pixels: 786,432 (1,024 x 768) pixels 1024x768p. You will probably get a better image with the vga cables, as that is one of the resolutions it outputs and it shouldn't be scaled. The colors are usually more accurate as well (since color signals are not shared on cables like component). I'd get the vga cables, if you don't see a difference then I guess you could return them. for a refund. |
Looks the dogs bo****ks on conponant.
Getting VGA cable at end of week. |
VGA is the muts nutts mate, tried both and have stayed with the VGA alot better i think
|
I have the same TV in the living room - only mine is on the Pedestal rather than the cabinet.
Great quality whatever you use mate :) |
Go VGA Eh!
Dont be gay go VGA!!!Dont be gay go VGA!!! By the way I have proview 32" lcd it looked about twice as good as component did. Component changes your signal to the dreaded analog signal.:(

Ok went down VGA route?
Downloaded Outfit from live, When i try to run it says i need to turn on pal60 mode? Prob is there is know pal mode settings? |
OK sorted it.
1. Plug 360 up to tv using scart. 2. Set to pal 60 mode in settings. 3. Plug backup using VGA cable and away you go :) |
