Starforce 3.6 Mini image - Is it possible?

I have bought Prince of persia the two thrones and managed to get it to work with my backup image without unplugging optical drives thanks to daemon tools 4 , my SATA only HDD and the nforce4 IDE controller but i would be very happy if there was mini or maxi image for it ( the so called mini image for POPT2T that is on GCW is not working for me and not only for me as i read in the forum).I made a little research and saw only one starforce 3.6 game with maybe working mini image for it on GCW and it is Cold war ( I don't know if this image is working because i don't have the game itself ).My question is is there any way to make a working mini image for starforce 3.6 game and if there is how can this be made.

Read the FAQ on how to make mini/maxi/full images. But I don't think that mini images would work with the latest versions of copy protections; perhaps, maxi images would (?) but those are pretty hard to create because you have to find out, by mostly trial and error, which areas (note the plural!) of the CD/DVD (image) the copy protection checks...

I think that you don't mean the forum FAQ because there is no such information on it.Please give me a link to the correct FAQ.

There's an entire subforum for the forum FAQ (see the top of every thread list page). The forum FAQ, not the forum software FAQ.

it's possible to make a mini image.... i've made a "mini" image for king kong (but it's round about 350 MB large).... so it's not very usefull :rolleyes: i've used ultra iso, a hexeditior and alcohol 120 - but i think it was luck to got this image to work...

caki 18-01-2006 14:34

hmmm, we had 'mini images', we've had 'maxi images'. Now we have Meedi (medium) images. :D

no no no... this method doesn't work for starforce protected games... it was a hard piece of work to make this image... but i hate starforce and i'll help to beat it.

well... i'll waiting for starforce 3.7 - i think the next ubisoft release will be protected by this version of starforce.

350MB is waaaaayyyyy too much??? hmmmm....I wonder what you call it when I had to play Splinter Cell 3: Chaos theory with 4.3Gb of image...still I had to do it though

It's way too much because only a fraction of this actually relates to the copy protection. The rest of it isn't actually needed to run the game.

The hard bit is figuring out which is which...

i have a question pls to make a minin or maxi image does it have to be with the original disc or you can make a mini or maxi image even from not an original disc thank you for answering

Grumpy 22-01-2006 08:29

@kooka
Yes, it has to be created from your original discs. I cannot be created from your backup discs!
